Friends of the Hiawatha Public Library
The Friends of the Hiawatha Public Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of our library. As a member of Friends, you will be making a contribution to the future of our Library community. Friends are women and men who:
- Care about our community
- Support good reading and access to information and technology
- Encourage early childhood literacy
The Friends raise funds to be used by the Library for activities not ordinarily covered under the library's operating budget. The Friends contribute to the summer reading program for children, young adults and adult programs.
The Friends meet on the third Tuesday of each month (except December) at 6:30 p.m. at the Hiawatha Public Library. All Friends members are encouraged to attend. New voices and ideas are welcome!
Attend library events, summer programs and fund-raising efforts.
Volunteers are needed to help with special projects such as:
- Staff appreciation luncheons
- Adult programming and refreshments
- Visiting speakers
- Book sales
Your financial gifts help the Friends help the library provide programs for all ages.
